Heading back towards Ambleside after dropping down from Dove Crag.
Ratboy and myself completed the Fairfield horseshoe in just over 4.5 hours.
The miserable weather meant that it was a day for yomping on and ignoring
the scenery (08/03/2004).
Scafell, Scafell Pike and Broad Crag from the col between Crinkle Crags
and Bowfell (21/09/2002).
An enjoyable weekends camping with Ratboy, Geraint and myself was enjoyed -
cracking weather for the time of year missus.
Ratboy and Geraint with Pavey Ark (Langdale) in the background. We
scrambled up Jacks Rake and descended White Ghyll after drinking copious
amounts of Theakstons, Jennings, Hartleys etc etc.
This was the day after the Scafell shot was taken above.
Looking over to the Coniston Fells from the summit of Pavey Ark
(Langdale) (13/04/02).
Scafell from just below Scafell Pike. Mickledore is the connecting ridge
leading up to Broad Stand.
If you can't climb Broad Stand then there's the choice of Foxes Tarn to the
left or Lords Rake to the right - both require a fair amount of
descent\ascent (22/07/1999).
Scafell and Scafell Pike from the summit of Bowfell on a freezing
January day in 2000. The rocks were just dry enough to make you forget about
ice until you were on yer arse!
Crinkle Crags and Bowfell (in sunlight in the distance). Taken on the
same day as the previous shot.
Great End from the slopes of Green Gable (March 1986??? I think). Esk
Pike can be seen to the far left with Broad Crag on the far right.
Whilst walking both Ratboy and myself have many jolly japes. In this
shot Ratboy makes a funny face whilst wearing his balaclava at a comedy
angle.
